Benefits of the Righteous
by Gerri Nash
I’ve been thinking about the word “righteous” for a while and every time I run across the words righteous or righteousness in the Bible, I get a stirring in my heart. Righteousness is a gift. We don’t earn righteousness. We receive righteousness. Jesus gave us the gift of righteousness. We are righteous because we believe in the finished work of Jesus on the cross. Because of our believing, it puts us in right standing with God.
The Bible says, “If you openly admit by your own mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord, and if you believe in your own heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” For it is believing in the heart that makes a man righteous before God””. (Romans 10:9-10 – Phillips New Testament).
Below are some of the benefits of the righteous found in the books of Psalms and Proverbs. We must take the time to read and meditate on the scriptures and allow them to become a reality in our lives.
